What are the Qualifications for City Council?

The qualifications to run for City Council are: 21 years of age prior to taking office; U.S. citizen; resident of the City of Kirksville for one (1) year prior to the election and have not been convicted of, found guilty of, or pled guilty to a felony under state or federal laws; and a registered voter. State Law also now requires a candidate for office to file an affidavit that they are not delinquent on state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes or real property taxes with the Missouri Department of Revenue prior to filing.
