History
The Kirksville community has provided recreational and educational swimming opportunities for the Northeast Missouri region since the mid 1950’s. In the 1990’s, the citizens of Kirksville approved comprehensive renovations of the old municipal pool facility. The current Aquatic Center facility opened on June 19, 1999, and provides a variety of recreational opportunities and aquatic therapeutic services. The ability to offer an expanded line-up of programs has increased the level of participation, not only from local residents but from residents throughout the Northeast Missouri region. The new Aquatic Center has greatly enhanced recreation/leisure services available in the area.
