City Engineer/Assistant Public Works Director

Progressive rural community seeks a professional civil engineer to perform complex engineering work for environmental, water, sewer, and street design, construction and maintenance of municipal infrastructure and management of Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities.  Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (PE) and five years related experience.  Salary $54,443-$65,212 DOQ plus benefits.  To apply send cover letter and resume to City of Kirksville, Pat Meredith, Human Resource Director, 201 S. Communications Operator

The City of Kirksville is accepting applications for a part time Communications Operator.  Duties include receiving and dispatching emergency and service information to public safety personnel.  Hours include nights, weekends and holidays.  High School Diploma or GED required plus three years of related experience.  M.U.L.E.S. Modular Training (Entry and Inquiry) and Emergency Medical Priority must be completed within six months of employment.  No felony convictions.  Starting salary is $11.67 per hour.  Training will take approximately 6 weeks/240 hours; average work week is 20 hours; hours vary so applicant must be flexible.  To apply please complete application and include resume and cover letter at the Missouri Career Center located in the MACC building at 1205 E. Admission/Concession Clerk

Duties include admission/concession service of patrons to the Aquatic Center and/or North Park concession stand.  Applicants must have a friendly, outgoing personality and be able to add, subtract and make correct change, assist in maintaining a daily cash balance and balancing cash on hand against receipts, assists in preparing and balancing deposits, and maintain a clean working area.  Minimum age 16, recent High School or College transcript required.  Complete application and include most recent transcript at the Missouri Career Center, 2105 E. Normal Street, Kirksville, MO through April 30, 2014.

Park Maintenance Workers

The City of Kirksville is accepting applications for seasonal park maintenance workers.  Work will consist of: mowing, weed removal, cleaning restrooms, trash collections, and general park maintenance.  Hours and days of work will vary.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must have a valid driver's license.  Applications will be accepted at the Division of Workforce Development, 2105 E. Normal Street, Kirksville, Missouri, 63501.

Lifeguards

The City of Kirksville is accepting applications for Lifeguards.  Applicants must successfully complete a Lifeguard certification course, CPR, and First Aid Training.  Applicants must be at least 16 years of ages.  Hours and work days vary and include holidays, weekdays, and weekends.  Applications are being accepted at the Career Center office at 2105 East Normal St., Kirksville, MO.

Softball/Baseball Officials

The Parks & Recreation department is hiring knowledgeable persons to umpire baseball and softball games for the 2014 season.  Hours vary according to game schedules.  This is a contractual position, compensation varies according to training requirements and league level.  Program begins Memorial weekend and runs through August.  Interested persons may apply at the Missouri Career Center located at 2105 E. Tennis Instructors

The City of Kirksville is accepting applications for Tennis Instructors.  Hours and work days vary and include evenings, and weekends.  Applications are being accepted at the Missouri Career Center office located at 2105 E. Normal Street, Kirksville, MO.

Maintenance Worker  

The City of Kirksville is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker.  Duties include a variety of unskilled and semiskilled maintenance work, and the operation of a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair and maintenance of City streets and right-of-ways, water and sewer utilities.  Hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent and will be required to obtain a Commercial Class A driver's license within six months of appointment.  Maintenance workers must be able to work emergency standby and respond to emergency call-outs when needed.  Salary $10.91 per hour plus benefits.  Applications will be accepted at the Missouri Career Center, located at 2105 E.
