Employee Benefits
The Human Resources Department administers a wide range of benefits for full-time employees, including:

The City provides Medical/Dental insurance for full-time employees and their dependents. The City pays 80% of the premium for single coverage and 50% of the dependent premium. Employees who participate in the Employee Wellness Program may be eligible for a premium discount. Employee’s monthly premium cost would be based on level of benefits requested.

Dental Insurance - Dental insurance is provided for all employees at no cost to the employee. Dependent coverage is optional. The City will pay 50% of the dependent premium. Employee’s monthly premium cost would be based on level of benefits requested.

Life Insurance - Life insurance is offered at no cost to each employee in an amount equal to the employee’s annual salary (maximum of $50,000).

Retirement – Retirement Benefits are provided through the Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) and social security.

Holidays - New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Friday following Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and a Floating Holiday voted on annually by employees.

Vacation Leave - Employees accrue eighty hours (80) of vacation leave following one year of employment. After one year, the employee will accrue nine (9) hours vacation leave per month.

Sick Leave - Employees accrue six (6) hours of sick leave per month.
Voluntary participation is available for Optional Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Deferred Compensation, Credit Union membership, and AFLAC insurance.
