The Kirksville Telecommunications Community Resource Center (TCRC) partners: the University of Missouri Extension, City of Kirksville, Truman State University and the Kirksville RIII School District are announcing the upcoming closure of the TCRC as we know it. Operations will cease August 12, 2010.
The City of Kirksville is interested in keeping the services or part of the services available to Kirksville Citizens. To do that, a partner or partner(s) are needed. Persons who have ideas or want to consider becoming a partner, contact the Kirksville City Manager’s office, 660-627-1225.
The Kirksville TCRC is located at 315 S. Franklin Street, Kirksville, Missouri. Through the existing partnership, significant numbers of persons have gotten their teaching certificates, master’s degrees, and PhDs using our services and are now working in schools in our area. Thousands of persons have used our public access computers (writing their resumes, applying for jobs, taking on line courses, and ...), and office services, many persons have reserved our multimedia work station to edit photos, videos, and producing streaming videos, several thousand persons have taken our computer classes and used their knowledge at work and home. MU Extension Specialists have been able to reach more persons in our rural area and across the state with their programs. Videoconferencing has also saved them time and money.
