How long can I leave my trash/recycling totes on the curb?
City Code details when and where properties can leave their totes for collection. Specifically, Sec. 30-30 states exactly when they can be left on the curb and when they must be returned. That code says that you can leave your totes on the curb as early as noon the day prior to collection, but not after 6:30 am on the day of collection. Totes should be left on the curb if they have yet to be collected by the collection company. However, once totes are emptied by collection, they should be returned back to the residence by the end of the day following the actual day of pickup. Here is a summary of that timeline:
Place totes on curb: 12:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Wait for collection company: Any time after 6:30 AM
Return totes to residence: By the end of the next day
