Public Works is one of the most visible departments within the City government, yet many people are unaware of the operations that Public Works performs. It is important to understand what Public Works does and how they work for the City and its citizens.
There are seven divisions within the City of Kirksville Public Works: Wastewater Treatment, Water Treatment, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection, Central Garage, Street Maintenance and Administration. The Administration division oversees all other divisions. Each performs public service functions which are essential to the daily lives of Kirksville residents.

For emergencies after 4:00 pm, or on the weekends, please call 660.665.5621 (E-911 Central Dispatch). Examples include water main breaks, flooding issues, trees/limbs blocking roads, or water quality complaints.
